Risk Management Agency
ContentProgram Description RMA administers Federal Crop Insurance Corporation programs and promotes the national welfare by improving the economic stability of agriculture through a sound system of crop insurance and other risk management tools. Through the private sector delivery system in 2005, RMA provided approximately $44 billion in protection to over 1.2 million policyholders on approximately 370 commodities, and covered nearly 246 million acres in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. RMA meets the needs of the Nation's small and limited resource farmers and ranchers through a network of public and private sector partners. Together RMA and our partners create new crop insurance products and risk management tools, provide risk management education and outreach and ensure program accessibility and integrity.
