ContentProgram Description There are approximately 5,000 farms in the State of Vermont (of which approximately 2,000 a re traditional cow dairy operations). Of this number, 75-80% would quality as "small farms" under some definition. Most of our small farms are family owned and operated. A number of specialists and agencies collaborate in delivering programs and services to small farmers in Vermont. Available programs include the following:
